The manuscript alone is expected to fetch up to $1.2 million, given its unique significance and status as the most valuable Conan Doyle item ever offered at auction, a Sotheby’s statement said. Under the plan, CVS’s roughly 9,500 retail pharmacies will get reimbursed by pharmacy-benefit managers and other payers based on the amount that CVS paid for the drugs, in addition to a limited markup and a flat fee to cover the services involved in handling and dispensing the prescriptions. Today, pharmacies are generally paid using complex measures that aren’t directly based on what they spent to purchase specific drugs.

The Los Angeles-based baker Michelle Boulos can still picture the sheet cakes she ate as a child: slathered with bright white frosting, decorated with tiny plastic balloons. But the confections she makes and sells via her Instagram account No Good Cakes are something else entirely. On one recent creation, frills of buttercream surrounded an acid green ombré surface inspired by a chemical spill. Boulos, 34, started baking the fantastical cakes out of her home in 2022 after making one for a wedding. “I got bitten by the sheet cake bug,” she says.

CNN —A 53-year-old man died Sunday during the swimming leg of the Noosa Triathlon in Australia. Queensland Police said a man, from Victoria, Australia, was pulled from the water in the early morning and was found unresponsive. “Emergency services attempted to revive the man, but he was declared deceased at the scene,” a police spokesperson said. In a statement on Facebook, the Noosa Triathlon said it was “deeply saddened” to confirm the death of a race participant. In addition to the world class field of athletes, the triathlon also caters for non-competitive participants.
